PP-26 newsroom

In-person participation is available for working members of the media with reporting responsibilities.  ITU issued media accreditation is mandatory to gain access to PP-26 sessions open to press, as well as media events and updates. Please review ITU guidelines to ensure you qualify before requesting media accreditation.

  1. ITU media accreditation
    • Submit your accreditation request here. A user guide is available here for reference. UN-accredited reporters with a valid UN badge can also request accreditation by writing to pressreg@itu.int.
    • Send your valid credentials by email to pressreg@itu.int.
    • Receive a confirmation email with your unique registration ID.
  2. Hayya Media Portal (HMP) – only for reporters already accredited by ITU
    • After ITU confirms your accreditation, all media – including UN-accredited reporters – register via Qatar’s Hayya Media Portal for e-visa, filming permit, and equipment clearance.
    • Create an account on HMP and select “26 International Telecommunication Union Plenipotentiary Conference PP” from the event list. A user guide is available here for reference.
    • Complete the form using your unique ITU registration ID provided on your ITU media accreditation confirmation letter (referred to as a “Registration Reference Number” on HMP)
    • For technical support, please contact media@hayya.qa and copy pressreg@itu.int.

Reporters are encouraged to apply early to allow time for verification and receive important updates in the run-up to the conference.

Access and remote coverage

Information about sessions open to reporters, press events, and their respective schedules will be shared closer to the event. A webcast will also be available for remote coverage. Press access to PP-26 activities is provided at the discretion of ITU Member States and can be rescinded without advance notice.

Important to note

Official photographers, videographers, and communication professionals employed by delegations must register as “delegates” and will not be issued a media badge. Please refer to the registration page and also guidelines for photographers and videographers.”
