PP Preparatory Process

Council 2024 and 2025 agreed on strengthening the inter-regional preparatory process and on holding inter-regional preparatory meetings. The schedule for these meetings is as follows:

  • The 1st informal inter-regional preparatory meeting for PP-22 was held on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, from 13.00 to 14.30 at ITU Headquarters + hybrid (during the CWG cluster). It was chaired by the PP-26 Chair-designate, Mr Ahmad Abdulla AlMuslemani. All of the regional groups were represented and gave presentations on the preparations in their regions (APT, LAS, ATU, CEPT, CITEL, RCC), as well as Cuba. The ITU secretariat and the Host Country also shared the status of their preparations.
  • 2nd meeting: 30 April 2026, at lunch break (exact time TBD), during the Council-26 (28 April – 8 May 2026), Geneva + hybrid
  • 3rd meeting: 10 June 2026, at lunch break (exact time TBD), during WTPF-26 (8-11 June 2026), Nassau + hybrid
  • 4th meeting: 14-15 October 2026 TBC, after the deadline for submission of candidatures (12 October 2026 at 23.59 Geneva time), Saudi Arabia + hybrid
