PP-26 Chair-designate<\/h2>\n<\/div>

Engineer Ahmad Abdulla AlMuslemani was appointed Chair-Designate of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (ITU PP-26) in 2024. He is leading Qatar\u2019s preparations for the conference in coordination with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and its Member States. PP-26 will set the Union\u2019s strategic direction through 2030, covering key areas such as global spectrum management, international standards development, and inclusive digital transformation.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Since 2023, Eng. AlMuslemani has served as President of Qatar\u2019s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA). In this role, he is responsible for implementing the Authority\u2019s national strategy, with a focus on modernizing regulatory frameworks, supporting innovation, and enhancing digital infrastructure. His work aligns with Qatar\u2019s Third National Development Strategy and its long-term Vision 2030.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Prior to joining CRA, he was the Chief Executive Officer of MEEZA, a Qatari technology company. During his tenure, he led the company\u2019s listing on the Qatar Stock Exchange and oversaw its regional expansion in cloud and data center services. He has also held senior roles at Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Qatar National Broadband Network, contributing to national efforts in broadband deployment and digital infrastructure planning.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Eng. AlMuslemani holds a Master\u2019s degree in Communication Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), a Master\u2019s in Management from HEC Paris in Qatar, and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University in the United States. His areas of expertise include advanced telecom networks, cloud services, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence, supporting his ongoing work to strengthen regulatory frameworks and enable the delivery of next-generation digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div>

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), and Board of Directors of Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ), where he contributes to aligning regulatory and economic frameworks that support Qatar\u2019s growing digital investments.<\/p>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n
