Held every four years, it is the key event at which ITU Member States decide on the future role of the organization, thereby determining the organization\u2019s ability to influence and affect the development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) worldwide. The Conference:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>sets the Union\u2019s general policies;<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>adopts four-year strategic and financial plans; and<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>elects the senior management team of the organization, the Member States of the Council, and the members of the Radio Regulations Board.  <\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (PP-26) will be held in Doha, Qatar, from Monday, 9 to Friday, 27 November 2026. It will be preceded by the last meeting of the 2026 session of the Council on Saturday, 7 November 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PP-26 Chair<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Host Country has identified <a href=\"https:\/\/pp.itu.int\/2026\/en\/about\/about-pp26\/chair\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pp.itu.int\/2026\/en\/chairman\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Mr Ahmad Abdulla AlMuslemani as the PP-26 Chair-designate<\/a>.
